Activities Support Worker (Bank)

Do you have a passion for supporting young people and adults with learning disabilities to reach their full potential through caring and enriching experiences?

We’re seeking enthusiastic Activities Support Workers to join our Day Services team! You’ll play a vital role in supporting our service users to develop new skills, build friendships, and explore exciting activities – all in a safe and caring environment.

Our growing Day Service offers three key programmes:

– Day Services & Holiday Club: Consistent care and support throughout the week, with a focus on engaging activities chosen by the participants.
– Saturday Club (term time only): A supportive and fun environment for social interaction and skill development.

What you’ll do:

– Support young people and adults with learning disabilities or complex needs in a small, friendly team.
– Provide safe, high-quality, and person-centred care, helping individuals achieve their goals and aspirations in a fun and inclusive environment.
– Support with a variety of activities; arts, sports, baking, trips out, games… even snow tubing!

With bank workers we are looking for reliability, however you do have the flexibility to choose when you are available for work as a bank worker (similarly, you may not be needed for work during quieter periods or when we are fully staffed). The working hours that our team can work are:

– Saturday Club: Saturdays from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm during term-time (36 weeks per year).
– Monday-Thursday from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm for 40 days across school holidays (10 weeks per year – Every half-term, 1 week at Christmas, 2 at Easter and 4 in the Summer).

Who we’re looking for:

– Experienced in working with individuals with learning disabilities.
– Ideally, hold a qualification in Health and Social Care at Level 2, as well as have experience working in a health & social care, youth or community setting (although we are still interested in hearing from you if you don’t have this, or have similar qualifications/experience).
– A genuine desire to make a difference in the lives of others.
– Excellent communication, patience, and a positive attitude.
– Ideally a driver so that you can drive our minibus.
