Being physically active

The social trips away from home with friends are important for the young people we work with, helping both them and their family to believe that they can do it. From giving back to the community by tidying up green spaces, to being an active part of it by joining Pride celebrations or running stalls at fairs and markets, Our Saturday Enrichment Groups strives for young people with learning disabilities to feel included, confident and to help the local community to become more inclusive.

Delicious Pizza in the making

At Lifeworks there is a strong focus on being healthy and being safe. The importance of good personal hygiene, good nutrition and fitness is one which we promote. The Lifeworks Saturday Club have now become dab hands in the kitchen, Making a range of scrumptious pizzas from scratch, with a variety of healthy toppings. We have witnessed that providing the young people with the motivation to learn and acquire skills will have lasting and significant benefits throughout their adulthood.

Learning new skills

Research shows that learning new skills can also improve your mental wellbeing by boosting self-confidence, raising self-esteem and helping you to build a sense of purpose and helping you to connect with others. At lifeworks we recognise we are all unique, we will support you to use your experience to become part of the community in which you live. Our key goal is to provide opportunities for learning so that the young people we care for are confident and equipped to enter their adult lives with more independence and opportunity. Through the achievements they make with us and the skills they develop, they will better understand themselves and where they are headed.
