The Together Award
The Together Award is awarded to an individual or group of people who inspire diverse communities to come together. What a amazing privilege and honour to receive our “Highly Commended Award” at Wednesday’s BBC Radio Devon Make A Difference Awards. The ceremony took place at the beautiful Powderham Castle.
To see so many passionate and dedicated people who have made such a difference to lives of so many people across the region was awe-inspiring and humbling.
CEO of Lifeworks Laura Fraser-Crewes said, “We are all so thrilled at this award and recognition, especially given the hundreds of entries into this years’ Awards. Our VISION is for an inclusive society where there is true equity, and where people with learning disabilities are valued, accepted, and empowered to fulfil their potential and our MISSION is to create opportunities for people with learning disabilities to have a great life. So, to have our work acknowledged in such an important Awards is a real testament to all our staff’s hard work, skill, dedication and commitment”.
Stuart Devlin Lifeworks Digital Marketing and Fundraising Officer added, “With our Specialist Further Education College, Community Projects, child & adult residential care, short breaks and holiday projects we give young people with learning disabilities in Devon the chance to make and meet up with friends, improve their health, try new activities and break down barriers. This recognition and awareness of our provisions continues to grow. Being nominated in The Together Award category really does sum up what Lifeworks is all about”.
All of our work has been developed in response to the needs of people with learning disabilities and their families. Our services include the provision of residential and short breaks, specialist further education, and numerous community projects with our young people leading the way.
