Senior Support Worker (Learning Disabilities)
Dartington, near Totnes
Salary scale: £10.44 – £10.77
Working hours: Days Full time (40 Hours)
We are looking for a Senior Support Worker to join the team at Robins, our 10 bed Residential & Respite Home in Dartington.
Children and young people with learning disabilities and their families are at the heart of everything we do and we want every person we support to have a great life, with excellent outcomes. We couldn’t achieve that without all the great Support Workers who join our care teams. It all starts with you!
There is no such thing as a ‘typical’ Support Worker. Our staff come from lots of different backgrounds, people with little or no experience but want a job that involves helping people, those who want a change of career, as well as experienced Support Workers.
The one thing that links all of them together is their desire to work with young people with learning disabilities, make their lives better and help them to learn something new or take a further step towards independence. Our Support Workers certainly don’t see what they do as ‘just another job’.
No two days will be the same as you will get involved in a variety of different tasks and activities whilst helping the young people to learn the skills they need to live the life they choose.
Ideally, you will have previous experience in this sector and must hold a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
We are a well-established charity that provides an excellent range of staff benefits:
- 28 days’ annual leave on starting increasing with service
- Annual Incremental pay rises (within banding)
- Company pension scheme
- Employee Assistance Scheme
- Retail/High Street shopping discounts (Eden Red)
- Comprehensive induction & training programs
- Supported with obtaining extra qualifications and succession
- Fully funded Enhanced DBS & Update Service
- Refer a Friends bonus scheme (T&C’s apply)
Defined as a “Good” provider by Ofsted, Robins are looking for “Outstanding” staff who will deliver support in a professional, caring way. Lifeworks are also accredited Disability Confident Employers.
Lifeworks is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young adults and we expect all staff to share this commitment. For this post, pre-employment checks will be carried out, references will be sought and successful candidates will need to undertake an enhanced DBS check.
So, if you’re seeking your next challenge as a Senior Support Worker, please apply via the button shown. This vacancy is being advertised by Webrecruit. The services advertised by Webrecruit are those of an Employment Agency.
Other organisations may call this role Lead Support Worker, Young Person’s Support Worker, Children’s Support Worker, Social Care Worker, or Care Worker.
