Coronavirus: A message from Lifeworks CEO

A message from Brian Harty, CEO of Lifeworks Charity

The coronavirus is having a major impact across the UK and causing anxiety to many people. As a charity, we provide support and services to vulnerable children and adults and their families. We would like to reassure everyone that our staff teams are working hard to continue to provide our services where we are able. During this time, we are closely following and implementing official guidance issued by the Government and the respective regulatory bodies such as CQC and OFSTED.

These are unprecedented times but we are remaining responsive to ensure the safety of both our staff and the people we support. Lifeworks has a pandemic recovery plan and our Senior Leadership Team are leading on responding to the evolving situation. The team meet daily to work through the latest advice from the government, keep staff updated and to ensure the health and wellbeing of both our colleagues and the vulnerable people in our care.

We know that there is anxiety over Covid-19 and we appreciate the Government’s priority in trying to reduce the spread of the coronavirus.  This does mean that we have had to make changes to the way that we deliver our services and, in some cases, we have made the difficult, but necessary, decision to restrict or suspend some provision. However, in the areas that we are still operating, we continue to introduce safety measures which go above and beyond our already high health, safety and care standards.

We will seek to keep everyone informed as we work through these challenging times but we want to assure you we are doing all we can to ensure the people we support and their families are given the vital support they need. If you need any further information please do not hesitate to contact us through our website www.lifeworks-uk.org/contact, social media pages or by phone 01803 840 744.
