Breaking the Barrier 2019, FREE outdoor pursuits for learning disabled young people and their families, launches Sunday 12 May with Surfing at Saunton, then in in June we’ve got Cycling, Surfing AND for the very first time in the Breaking the Barrier calendar – Paddleboarding;
Another first for Breaking the Barrier, with support from the Daytrippers Foundation and the Morrisons Foundation, Lifeworks is enabling learning disabled young volunteers to learn the skills they need to help deliver monthly inclusive family cycle sessions at the Torbay Velopark and out of season inclusive surf sessions with Discovery Surf School.
These events only happen because of the incredible voluntary support they attract – 92% of the event workforce at Saunton are volunteering on the day – THANK YOU to The Saunton Hotdoggers and the Lifeworks Volunteers who are helping make this happen. The event is also being supported by local businesses: Saunton Beach Café, Saunton Beach Villas and Surf-Saunton.
