Despite the rather changeable weather this weekend, four of our brave supporters were able to go ahead with their tandem skydive as planned. The fantastic four threw themselves out of a perfectly good airplane at 15,000 feet (that’s almost 3 miles up!). This was the group’s second attempt at making the jump, as their original date back in May was cancelled due to high winds.
The team members were Lee Allsopp, (staff member at Sesame), Rob Whitehead (who works for our supporters at Dartington), and father and daughter team Neil and Amy Whitehouse. Our fifth member of the Jump for Lifeworks 2014 skydive team, Lisa Sykes of Lloyds Bank, Totnes, will be making the leap on August the 9th – so here’s hoping for blue skies!
All four who jumped at Dunkeswell yesterday loved the experience and are keen to make another jump – in fact it was likely they would have been straight on the plane back up if they could have managed it!
The amount raised by the team has yet to be finalized as donations are still coming in (you can still sponsor Lisa on her Just Giving page)- but the figure currently stands in the region of £3500!
Congratulations to all of you – and good luck to Lisa.
