Kool Club Goes the Mile for Sport relief

Twelve local youngsters braved the weather and walked a mile for Sport Relief last Saturday raising £562.

Members of Kool Club gathered together at the Plains in Totnes on Saturday to do their bit for Sport Relief.
Accompanied by staff and Lifeworks- patron The Duke of Somerset, the group were encouraged by Totnes Mayor Mrs Jean Harrop who saw them off at the start of their mile outside JAG Communications at the bottom of town.
As they proceeded on their route to the High Street, accompanied by the Duke of Somerset everyone was clearly visible in bright yellow t-shirts worn over raincoats. Continuing up the High Street towards Leechwell Street, and returning back down the High Street to their original starting point, the youngsters collected money from supportive passers-by and also visited establishments who kindly allowed them to collect donations from their cliental.
At the end of the walk everyone was amazed at the amount of support they received - over £560 in cash donations and sponsorship. Ellie Oldridge Session Leader for Kool Club said -We are all extremely proud of the youngsters, they kept going with great enthusiasm raising a substantial amount for a very worthy cause. Thank you to everyone who supported us.
